Mrs. Campbell's Summer Cooking Class 2011

The St. Michael Lutheran School Summer cooking camp enjoys a creative age-appropriate cooking class.  Silly snacks, holiday goodies, and healthy habits are just some of the
hands-on experiences to be enjoyed. Some other child-friendly
topics that will be explored are kitchen safety, manners, and
nutrition. 


 


Ham and Cheese Roll Ups

1 loaf of white sandwich bread

1 package of thin sliced ham

American cheese slices

butter (melted for basting)

Optional: Parmesan Cheese



Take the crust off 1 piece of bread.  Place on wax paper and roll out until flat with a rolling pin.  Place 1 piece of ham and cheese on top!!!!  Roll up jellyroll style and brush on all sides with melted butter.  Place seam down on a cookie sheet.  Sprinkle with parmesan cheese.  Bake at 400 for about 15-20 minutes or until golden brown.










No Bake Cookie Cake

one package of Oreos (16 oz)
1 package of large marshmallows
½ stick of margarine or butter

Crush cookies by hand in a zip lock bag.  Place marshmallows in a large microwave proof mixing bowl.  Add butter.  Cook in microwave for 2 minutes stirring after 1 minute.  Add Oreos.  Stir well to mix. Place mixture on a buttered piece of parchment.  Rub hands with butter and use them to shape into a flat round cookie shape.  Decorate with frosting and eat!!


 

Edible Play Dough

1 can of vanilla frosting
1 cup of peanut butter
1 ½ cups of powdered sugar

Mix frosting and peanut butter.  Add  powdered sugar to make a stiff dough.
